Junior Computer Technicians in Training

A shared interest in technology earned three Cuyahoga Heights Middle School students the opportunity to put their curiosities to work when they visited the Cuyahoga Heights Schools’ Technology Department during a recent study hall. Todd Long, Tyler Schmidt, and Louie Lamirand assisted Information Technology Support Specialist Matt Hartman by repairing Chromebook computer screens and keyboards and replacing projector bulbs.

They also toured the district’s server room, the hub of the district’s technology operation.  Hartman answered their questions about each server and its purpose and explained how the equipment is connected. “I was super happy to see that students were interested in technology and wanted to learn,” he noted.

Impressed by their work, Hartman said the trio has an open invention to spend their study hall time assisting with computer repairs in the future.
